TV problems and solutions for the Toshiba 32BV701B

Problem: The TV won't turn on.

Solution 1: First solution: check the power. Yes, I know it's obvious, but if the fuse has gone in the plug, if the cable is loose or if you've overlooked a second power switch, this might be your problem. If you have any indication of power at all (e.g. power light), you can discount this.
Alternative Solution: Is the plug in/on also have you checked the cables are in correctly (it's worth checking them over)

Problem: The picture is very poor on freeview. I get interference, blocks appearing, clicking sounds and a generally unwatchable picture.

Solution 1: This sounds like a poor signal. Go into the menu and see if you can check the signal strength. To solve this, you will need to either (1) Retune your TV to a more local transmitter, (2) Improve / reposition your TV aerial, or (3) Check the cable that connects your TV to the aerial - replacing this will be easier and cheaper that replacing the antenna.

Problem: How do I connect my computer to my TV? I can't seem to get any sound.

Solution 1: You might need to send a separate audio cable to your TV, even if you're connecting via HDMI.

Problem: I get a green or blue screen, but I can hear the sound coming from the TV channel.

Solution 1: Golden rule 1: Change channel and see if you can change back and make it work.

Problem: Picture has speckles or sparkles while watching.

Solution 1: This is likely to be a cable problem. Try with a different cable if you have one handy. Cheaper cables are more likely to do this, particularly if they are quite long (over 5 metres)

Problem: Picture comes on, then goes off, sometimes flickers.

Solution 1: Probably a loose cable connection. Try fiddling around with the cable while it's on and see if it helps.

Problem: when changing channel, I loose sounds on BBC1 and 2, ITV and others but not in BBC news. A message (no service found) appears. Problem is solved when turning the Tv off and on again.

toshiba provided me with a usb stick with the following firmware files on.

download the zip on below link and extract all files to the root directory of a freshly formatted usb drive. make sure the drive is in FAT32 formatted prior to adding files.

make sure all files are on the root part of the drive and not in a folder. and not in a zip. the image provided in the zip is the instructions to update the firmware.

Problem: I'm having problems with lip sync and also service not running !! Could anyone tell me can I connect my iPad with 3G to the tv and do I need any extra cables sorry I'm a tv/ computer novice.

Problem: my sound keeps going off very intermitten.after turning tele off for a few seconds the sound comes back,sometimes for quite awhile other times only for 5 or 10 minutes this has happened for about 3/4 weeks can any kind person help

Problem: As previous Toshiba 32bv701b repeatedly keeps loosing sound,after turning tv off for a few seconds sound is restored this happens repeatedly mainly i think when tv is hot after been on for a long period any solutions
